International: choice of law and choice of tax must not be confused

The European ruling on succession will be enforced the 17 August 2015. Every practitioner works relentlessly, studying and rehashing this text in order to be ready for the fateful day and master the new rules it enacts. Everyone hears about the simplicity offered by these rules, but remains worried of an uncontrolled opening towards foreign laws. Everyone also acknowledge that a European space of liberty is materializing in inheritance law, since travelling in Europe will no longer make it compulsory to submit the succession to a foreign law.
